Russian Tourist Deported from Vietnam After Reckless Motorcycle Stunts Go Viral
A Russian woman has been deported from Vietnam after being convicted of performing dangerous motorcycle stunts on public roads that were widely shared on social media.
Authorities in Vietnam's Khánh Hòa Province have deported a Russian national following her conviction for dangerous motorcycle riding that drew public concern and raised alarm about traffic safety on local roads.
Nikitina Iuliia, born in 1991, carried out a series of risky maneuvers between January and June 2025, repeatedly standing on the seat of her Yamaha R15 motorcycle while traveling on public streets in Cam Lâm and Cam Ranh. She also failed to wear protective gear during these rides, which she filmed and shared across social media platforms. The videos accumulated substantial viewership and engagement, intensifying worries about public order in the region.
In July, a regional court in Khánh Hòa found her guilty of disturbing public order under Vietnam's Criminal Code. The verdict imposed a fine of 30 million Vietnamese đồng—approximately $1,150—and ordered her removal from the country. On September 15, police and airport officials coordinated to execute the deportation.
Officials emphasized that traffic violations conducted in public and subsequently amplified online carry serious legal repercussions. Authorities used the case to remind foreign visitors that Vietnam expects compliance with local traffic laws and regulations aimed at safeguarding public safety.
